All in all a very unpleasant experience was had with them even without the covid bit being thrown in. Their call centre staff do not speak the clearest English, making it very hard work to have a conversation with them. We only got this when we did as I found out that Ryanair had actually refunded a third of the way through July so I had to chase Teletext for it. We got a partial refund for the accommodation side of things on 9th of June and then did not receive the flight refund until 19th August.

We paid up full at the end of January, the holiday was cancelled a day before we were due to fly out in March. I told him he was wrong but he still said there was nothing they could do and that the hotel we were booked in for was perfectly good enough for us anyway. A very patronizing Teletext team member told us they couldnt swap as we wouldnt get a refund from the original hotel. I called up the hotel myself and they confirmed we would be able to get a full refund from them and called the correct hotel who said they had room for us. Even before covid came along and stopped our trip to Malta this bunch refused to be of any help when I noticed they had booked us into a different hotel that we wanted to stay in as the hotels had very similar names. That can be used as evidence you have tried everything to get your refund. As soon as your raise a formal complaint they have 8 weeks to respond if you are not happy with complaint or they do not respond within the 8 weeks.

If you would like your refund as fast as possible I would raise a formal complaint via email. You do not need to accept the credit notes as this is there way of keeping your money. If anyone is in any doubt you under ATOL and consumer rights your are entitled to a full cash refund if Teletext has canceled your holiday. They are attempting to force people to accept a credit note saying that you are not allowed a cash refund. If the customer services for this company can just hand up when you ask to raise a formal complaint and ignore any email you send. I've heard from other reviews that they are trying to get negative reviews removed from trust pilot. Which as you can see from the comment it's dropping rapidly. E.G booking number, email address or any other information they say they are helping in public face as to not ruin there reputation. They say they are going to raise this to relevant departments but have failed to ask for any info that would actually help with the issue. ***Edit as you can see from the reply from Teletext it is all false comments. Then hung up on when asking for names and to make formal complaints. From being told a full refund in 14 days to 30 days to 90 days then being told i had to take a credit note. Since then i have been told different things every time i call. The channel is notable for its travel and holiday shows, whether presented by comedians such as Susan Calman and Alexander Armstrong or whether they are.
